1/ FOREWORD
First, let me clear the fact that Live Aid and Band Aid were events for charity and should not be spoiled. It is important that this set will never be sold, neither on any on-line auction site or on personal trade lists. If you plan to do so, please refrain from requesting a copy. This release is a fan release, not a regular official Live Aid / Band Aid release. It was made by fans and only for fans.

THIS DISTRIBUTION IS OPEN TO ANY LIVE AID FAN.
Participants do not need to have contributed to the project, and they don't even need to have a CDr burner.

2/ A NOTE ABOUT THE AUDIO QUALITY
We have done all we could do to access the best sources available. Most of the show has been mastered from original stereo radio analog recordings. Some minor parts are from mono video analog recordings and may be of inferior quality.

3/ WHAT'S DIFFERENT FROM OTHER PREVIOUS RELEASES ?
This set is based on the complete BBC radio broadcast which is nearly complete. We had to remove one 3 minute ("how to donate") reminder due to the 80 minute limit of CDrs. The BBC base is enhanced with a lot of bits from the ABC radio, ABC syndicated (TV), and MTV feeds. In fact, it would be easier to list what is not included in the set so here are the missing bits (see the end of this message for a detailed tracklisting of all CDs) :


ULTRAVOX : missing the start of "Reap the Wild Wind".


BERNARD WATSON : missing the complete performance. On the bonus CDs we have included a very short bit of his performance which was heard under ABC (TV) announcer's voice.


SADE : we have found a longer bit of "Why Can't We Live Together", but the very start of the song is not available.


RUN DMC : only a very short part of their performance is available. We have included all of what we had, including the stage announcement heard under the MTV chatter, but nothing else is available.


U2 : The very end of "Bad" is not available. We believe that no more than 30 seconds are missing on this one, but technically, it is not complete ;-(.


GEORGE THOROGOOD : "Who Do You Love" is incomplete. We think this track was more than 6 minutes long. We have only found 05.34 of it.


SIMPLE MINDS : The satellite link broke before the end of "Promise You A Miracle" which is incomplete.


THE PRETENDERS : We haven't found the start of "Time The Avenger".


THE CARS : We haven't found the start of " You Might Think".


ERIC CLAPTON : even if we have found a longer bit of "White Room", the very start of the song is not available.

This means that for more than seventeen hours of music, less than 10 minutes maybe missing all in all. As a bonus, we have included on two additional CDs, all the messages and interviews made during the day, plus some spare bits that wouldn't fit onto the other CDs.
